The Stories, Science & Strategies™ framework is a scientific approach developed by Dr. Katherine Grill to deliver evidence-based health literacy interventions via social media. It functions as a novel digital education model that translates complex health information into engaging, easy-to-understand, actionable content for online audiences.

Grounded in behavioral science, the framework integrates three distinct and complementary forms of health communication: personal storytelling, scientific education, and practical strategies that support real-world action. Together, these components create a scalable model for evidence-based health literacy interventions designed for the realities of modern communication.

Dr. Grill applies this framework in her research at Loyola University Chicago Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health and through collaborative public health initiatives. This notably includes the New Mexico Department of Health's YouTube series, a youth-co-created health literacy intervention focused on positive youth development and digital wellbeing.

The Stories, Science & Strategies™ framework has received

international recognition as an innovative approach to

evidence-based health communication. This work has led to

invitations for Dr. Grill to serve as a Collaborator at UCLA's

Center for Scholars & Storytellers and as a member of the

World Health Organization Fides, a network of healthcare

influencers dedicated to fighting misinformation online.

The Stories, Science & Strategies™ framework provides

an ethical, scalable solution to the growing challenge

of health misinformation online. The goal of the

framework is to establish a replicable model for

evidence-based digital communication that public health

agencies and creators worldwide can adopt.

Dr. Grill welcomes opportunities for interdisciplinary

collaboration on her framework, including research partnerships, speaking engagements, and public health literacy initiatives.

Stories use personal narratives and lived experiences to make health information feel human, relatable, and emotionally engaging. By hearing directly from peers, audiences build trust and feel less isolated in their experiences. This narrative-centered approach incorporates safeguards that help creators and audiences make informed decisions about sharing personal experiences in digital spaces.
